SSY proudly presents a NEW Special Series for the month of September on Monday nights :

Monday Night Special Yoga Series “Meditation 101” from 5:45p – 6:45p!

Beginning Monday, September 10th, we will begin leading a 3-week series specializing in the fundamentals of meditation. Each class will subsequently build up to the next class, so we can develop a deeper understanding and experience for ourselves how easy it can be to learn to “become still”.

This class is suited for all students with our without experience. Beginners are very welcome!

after a full month of learning about the most reliable and effective stretching techniques in June we will continue our Monday Night Special Monthly Series in August with a new exciting Theme that will help us all, no matter what condition we are momentarily in. Be invited to commit in August to a “renewed midsection”:

“Yoga for perfect Core Strength”

Challenge yourself to a new level of CORE TRAINING. Forget about those “hundreds of crunches” that have never brought us the result we are looking for.

  • Learn about proper exercise technique,
  • understand the anatomy of the abdominal and back muscles,
  • improve those disbalances in your core muscles that often are the reason for aches and pains around our spine (Medical professionals claim that BACK PAIN is the NUMBER ONE REASON for doctors visits all over the U.S. In 90% of those cases the doctors diagnose a significant weakness in the “core muscles” as well as tight hamstrings and hip muscles)
  • and finally experience the effectiveness of not only “working hard, but SMART…”

Our philosophy is to teach you body awareness for your CORE that makes sense to you, so that you can take these exercises every where you go and reproduce them where ever you practice.

SSY proudly presents a NEW offering on Monday nights :

Monthly Special Yoga Series @ 6pm

Every month we will be leading a 4-week series with a specific theme. Each class will subsequently build up to the next class, so we can develop a deeper understanding and experience of the vast richness that YOGA has to offer.

This class is best suited for students with at least some yoga experience. There will be different series that will be requiring more or less experience, but all levels are welcome as our teachers will safely modify all postures for a more or less challenging journey.

 

This June’s Monthly Special Yoga Series Theme will be:

 

“How to start your own HOME yoga practice” (with Monica)

 

Did you ever want to practice at home, but just did not know what to do? Ever rolled out your mat at home with the best of intentions and then gave up frustrated because you didn’t feel confident enough to do ANYTHING? Yes, we hear you…but you can change that now! Always wanted to REALLY learn the Sun Salutation?? Now you can…

Feel free to bring paper and pen to write down some keywords in this interactive and fun series

Dear Yoginis,
In the process of updating our online presence, I am finally starting to write a regular blog…YAY…

The initial reason why we created a website that contains a blog was to keep our yoga community here on the Southside informed not only about news around SSY, but provide a forum for information like: Yoga and Fitness in general, a happier and healthier lifestyle, to learn about the latest anti-aging facts and developments, how to improve your sleeping pattern, bring more awareness to our everyday choices and behaviors, meditation and anti-stress techniques, to shine a light on nutrition and food facts, and much more. Sometimes I might just answer questions that come up during our weekly classes and sometimes I hope I will have guest writers who contribute with their experience and knowledge about facts that will make our life a little richer and colorful or just make us laugh…

I hope you like to read it and will provide us with feedback and comments.
And now I need to call on all our dedicated Yoginis, friends and supporters of SSY:
Please share our website information and our weekly blog articles with your friends and family and have them sign up for our newsletter if they are interested. Send everybody you know to our Facebook page and ask them to click the “LIKE” button. We are working hard to “spread the word” of our little yoga community here on the Southside and the internet and YOU are the most important tools for that. There are still too many people who do not know yet that we exist…
